LASIK eye surgery can bring clarity to your vision and eliminate your dependency on glasses and contacts.
LASIK (laser assisted in-situ keratomileusis) is a corrective procedure utilized to repair refractive errors that prevent the eye from focusing properly. The procedure reshapes the cornea so that it
will focus light correctly. The cornea’s role is similar to the lens on a camera. When light enters the cornea it bends and focuses the light. This process is called refraction.
No one has a “perfectly” shaped cornea; each person’s imperfections are as unique as their fingerprint. For many people these imperfections or refractive errors make objects appear blurry or out of
focus. Although there are three primary refractive errors—myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism—the way these errors affect vision is individual to each patient.

Hart Eye Center accommodates the individuality of each person’s vision by performing custom LASIK procedures with the Technolas™ Zyoptix® System.
The Zyoptix® System uses wavefront-guided technology to map thousands of data points to create a detailed, three-dimensional picture of each patient’s specific vision problem. This picture
enables Dr. Hart to provide a custom LASIK procedure to fit each patient’s special vision needs.
Visit Technolas™ for more information on the Zyoptix® system.
Custom LASIK has better results than traditional LASIK, because it caters to the patients’ individual vision needs. The custom procedure also makes corrective eye surgery possible for people with
severe problems who could not have been helped by conventional surgery.
